There is no doubt that stress affects every single one of us and we get stressed out during busy times at work, when worrying about our cash situation and when dealing with a difficult relationship. It surrounds us every single day and while some stress is actually good for us, the vast majority is not because it can take away all of your energy and cause you to be ill both physically and mentally. Our doctors are always telling us that we need to control our stress levels but that is a lot easier said than done. Being able to control your stress levels is all about knowing the symptoms of stress and being able to recognise them immediately. Many of us don’t even know we’re stressed until we start to feel quite ill after the event has ended.

The symptoms of stress & how to deal with the consequences

Stress affects us in many different ways and it influences our emotions, our behaviours and our ability to think clearly. Some of the symptoms that you need to be looking out for are becoming easily annoyed at just the simplest things and feeling that you can’t control the situation when in normal circumstances, you could. You might start feeling bad about yourself and feeling depressed even though life seems to be going quite well for you. You have already purchased that 3D massage chair to help you to relax more, but even though it is doing its job properly, you have a hard time relaxing and getting your mind to quiet down. If you’re feeling highly stressed then the following are some of the ways that you can deal with it effectively.

– Don’t sweat the small stuff – It is important to realise that there are some things in life that you just can’t change and so there is no point in even worrying about them in the first place. This is a lot easier said than done and so it is going to require some practice on your part. When you find yourself getting annoyed about the simplest of things like falling asleep at work, just take a deep breath and take a step back and think to yourself, how will this affect me. If it is something that is going to be gone tomorrow, then why worry about it today.

– Get out and about – Being cooped in all day is not good for your general health and so it is important that you get yourself out into the fresh air and sunshine whenever you can. It is now well documented that many people suffer from low levels of vitamins D which is essential for good immune health. It’s great that you have an excellent job and it is excellent that you’re probably going to get that promotion that you need to remember that your health is a lot more important.

It is always important to remember that there is always help available when you are experiencing high levels of stress and stress overload. Your doctor is there to help and they can figure out your symptoms and rule out other conditions before they try to treat your stress.
